Matt
25:21 His
lord said unto him, Well done, thou
good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will
make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
1Cor
4:2 Moreover
it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
This has got to be the thing that internally conflicts me
the most. Not that I don’t understand what being faithful is but it’s that it is
not as easy it looks. Okay, so what is so conflicting? Well, I can be very
capricious (given to sudden and unaccountable changes of mood or behavior), my
mood and desires and basically everything changes every so often. I hate routines
and being in the same setting for so long bores me tremendously. According to
the Google online dictionary; faithful means loyal, constant, and
steadfast. Synonyms include true,
devoted,
true-blue,
unswerving,
staunch,
steadfast,
dedicated,
committed.
Not long ago, I went for a service and I heard this lady
pour her heart out about all that her ‘small’ ministry (according to her words)
has been able to accomplish over the years. She said that it only took
integrity and being faithful. (Trust me it’s some great accomplishments).
So, I need to commit to the things that
are important, especially God this year, I want to have a constant with Him, also
to the gifts and talents He has given me. In as much as I get confused when it
comes to what I really want, I need to be faithful in what I have. Thank God
that the year has been themed ‘exceeding grace’ so I pray for a lot of that.
And that is my resolution, not just
2014 but the rest of my life. To be found faithful, no excuses.
